[Newly Forged Sword] Higo-no-Kuni-jū Akamatsu Tarō Kaneyuki / Early Spring, Reiwa 6 (2024)

Swordsmith Akamatsu Tarō Kaneyuki (real name: Yasuhiro Kimura) resides in Yatsushiro City, Kumamoto Prefecture.
Born in 1981 (Showa 56), he apprenticed under his father, swordsmith Kanetsugu, and has since been engaged in sword forging. The Kimura family descends from the official smiths of the Sagara clan of the Hitoyoshi Domain. In addition to his father Kanetsugu, his uncles Kaneyasu and Kaneteru are swordsmiths, and his elder brother Kanemitsu is also a swordsmith.

This sword was newly forged in 2024 (Reiwa 6) as an iaidō practice sword. Our company further refined it with grooves (hi) carved into the blade and specially crafted mountings (koshirae). The blade is well balanced, produces a clear sound, and all fittings are newly made. It has been completed as a sword we can confidently recommend.
