Swordsmith Akamatsu Tar\u014d Kaneyuki<\/strong> (real name: Yasuhiro Kimura) resides in Yatsushiro City, Kumamoto Prefecture. This sword was newly forged in 2024 (Reiwa 6) as an iaid\u014d practice sword. Our company further refined it with grooves (hi) carved into the blade and the mounting (koshirae) specially crafted. The blade is well balanced, produces a clear sound, and all fittings are newly made. Born in 1981 (Showa 56), he began his apprenticeship under his father, swordsmith Kanetsugu, and has since been forging swords. The Kimura family descends from the official smiths of the Sagara clan of the Hitoyoshi Domain. In addition to his father Kanetsugu, his uncles Kaneyasu and Kaneteru are swordsmiths, and his elder brother Kanemitsu is also a swordsmith.<\/p>\n
